“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.”

— Plato

Presto Project is St Ultan’s National School’s resident music programme. For more information see the Presto project website.

Every child in St Ultans receives a minimum of 30 minutes of free music education every week. We are an El Sistema inspired programme; the Venezuelan model of music for social change established by José Antonio Abreu in 1975.

We also have the CEOL Programme in every class which teaches children rhythm, pitch, how to read music,
how to ‘compose’ and ‘perform’. The class teachers are all fully trained in this programme.
