Saint Ultans at Croke Park

It was a clear dry day in Croke Park as the St Ultan’s girls embarked on a journey never taken before in the history of the school. The girls had battled through a tough group through beating local schools from Clondalkin and Lucan. On the 3rd of November the girls played against a very strong team from Scoil Oilibhéir from Castleknock. After poor start where the nerves were evident, the girls slowly began to play their attractive brand of football with Katie Kelly and Shannon Coady showing their silky skills. Unfortunately, the girls from Scoil Oilibhéir’s scored some decisive scores at vital times but the St Ultan’s girls never gave up. Shannon Coady scored a point to ensure that St Ultan’s entered the half time break still in touch.
After the break, St Ultan’s continued to try their hardest with the Scoil Oilibhéir goalkeeper making some critical saves. Shannon Coady scored another couple of points but it wasn’t to be and Scoil Oilibhéir were the deserved the winners on the day. Saint Ultan’s will come back stronger and better next year.
