School Re-opening Plan

We are really looking forward to re-opening on Thursday 27th August and welcoming all the children back to school. To do that safely, St. Ultans has followed all Government guidance in developing a COVID 19 Response Plan. This plan is wide-ranging and includes lots of new rules.

Bridge Back to School - AsIAM launch resource for children with Autism

AsIAm have partnered with Supervalu and Mary Immaculate College to create a new resource.

The aim of this resource is to support a facilitator (parent, SNA, teacher or home support worker) in working with a student during the summer months. The document explains key skills and strategies to the facilitator to support students in learning key concepts and engaging in activities.

The resources is 50 pages which covers key topics from social skills to “my first day back in school” and are supported by an online bank of further information and activity sheets. As with everything AsIAm do, autistic experience and voice has been central to their approach.

Congratulations to our Award Winners

Huge Congratulations to all our 6th Class students who graduated on Friday! We were delighted to celebrate them and all their achievements over their 8 years with us in St. Ultan’s.

Each year at graduation we have some special awards to celebrate individual achievements. This year we presented the following four awards…

Lauritzson Foundation Award & Bursary: An award for achievements in music and a contribution towards further music studies. This award goes to a child who has participated and excelled in St. Ultans Presto project.

Attendance and Participation Award: An award for really good attendance and punctuality, and also to recognise a child that can always be depended on to support events, participate in events and turn up when they say they will.

Spirit of Saint Ultan: An award for a child who embraces and promotes kindness, bravery, excellent interpersonal skills, a big heart, a lovely nature and a generosity of spirit.

Réalt na Scoile: This major award goes to the child in 6th class who epitomises everything we value in Saint Ultans, the child who has contributed most to Saint Ultans, and has been a super ambassador throughout their time here.

Congratulations to this year’s Award Winners

Collection Dates - School Reports, Children's Portfolios, Information Letters

There are still a number of jobs to do before the end of June, such as giving out report cards, informing families about which teacher will work with their child next year and giving important information about uniforms, school calendar and book bills.

We are scheduling times next week for people to come and collect all of this information in a safe & physically distanced way.

If you cannot make it up on your assigned day, please let your current teacher know on Class Dojo and we will try to make alternative arrangements.

Food Deliveries Program

We hope that any parents who availed of this service have really enjoyed it. Unfortunately this service is now coming to an end. A letter was sent from Gary, Sue & John, our Campus Managers, to all families with yesterday’s delivery, explaining that we cannot continue with this as funding will be cut over the summer months. Click here to see a copy of that letter & booklet.

As Múinteoir Gary mentioned in his recent video update, we have done our best over the past few months to make our food delivery packs as useful as possible. We were really glad that we were able to run this program, and we are sad to see funding for this finish.
