PJ Day in Aid of Peter Mc Verry Trust

Hi Everyone,

As you know we have been very busy learning about ‘Healthy Sleep Routines’ this week in school. Some classes have focused on

  • Healthy Sleep Habits

  • Importance of Sleep

  • Calming Activities

  • Using a Sleep Diary

  • Learning about Sleep Cycles

Today was PJ day, and we have had a great turn-out. In addition the boys and girls chose to use this non-uniform day to fundraise for a very worthy cause - The Peter Mc Verry Trust. We will let you know the total raised as soon as all donations are counted. Have a look at the video to see what some of our classes got up to in their PJs today.

If any parents have any questions or resources they'd like to share please don't hesitate to get in touch. The pictures here are adapted from a document by AsIam . World Autism Month - April 2021

World Autism Awareness Day (April 2nd) aims to shine a light on autism to increase awareness about people and especially children who have autism. There is also hope to develop world knowledge about autism and deliver information on how important it is to detect an early diagnosis.

Autism affects both men and women of all races in all countries. It has an especially large impact on children and is immensely common. This is precisely why raising awareness of autism is essential.

‘Say Yes to Autism Acceptance’ Guide

The “Say Yes to Autism Acceptance” guide includes 10 ways to say yes to Autism Acceptance, which will be available in SuperValu stores throughout World Autism Month in April.

At least 1 in 65 people in Ireland are autistic and nearly 300,000 people have an immediate family member on the autism spectrum. Autistic people are as diverse as the society we live in and are already making contributions to communities across Ireland.  World Autism Month is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the autism community in Ireland and beyond as we create more inclusive communities by expanding knowledge, understanding and acceptance. AsIAm and SuperValu are on a journey to build more inclusive communities across Ireland. Click on the button below to download the guide.

Great news!!!

Keep an eye out for familiar Presto faces playing their instruments in this virtual Paddy’s Day event between 12-2pm tomorrow! The young musicians worked hard on this during lockdown and uploaded their recordings in February! 👏🌈☘️ This was done through Bands of Ireland, St. Patricks Day 2021.

St. Patricks Festival have now started their broadcast which will last from March 12th - 17th. You can find this at www.stpatricksfestival.ie or you can go directly to YouTube . There’s a huge amount of events, shows, and performances being broadcast there over the coming days.

Our performances are being broadcast on St. Patrick’s Day between 12:00pm and 2:00pm.

They’ll also be available to watch on demand after this date on the website for the next 24 hours. In Ireland, the performances are also being broadcast on Oireachtas TV which can be found on all TV platforms.

Hi Everyone,

I know that Múinteoir Sarah has been busy letting everyone at the gates know about the change to the school calendar for this week. For anyone who missed out, we will only be closed on Wednesday this week - not Wednesday and Thursday as planned. We look forward to seeing all the boys and girls in school on Thursday after St. Patricks Day,

Thanks,
