Christmas Window Competition Winners

Well done to everyone who took part in our Christmas Window Competition this year. We will share photos of all the different windows next week. Have a look below to find our all about our winners.

Title: Reindeers and Candy Canes

Description: 2nd Class made a game based on Snakes and Ladders but instead we decided to use Reindeers and Candy Canes. There are four silly elves trying to get to one hundred, their names are Jingles, Alfie, Snowy and Danger.

The rules are:

1.       Youngest player goes first.

2.       If you land on a Candy Cane you slide down.

3.       If you land on a Reindeer’s footprints you move up.

4.       First person to one hundred wins.

Our Christmas window is titled ‘Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice.’ It was inspired by a gingerbread house that some people like to make at Christmas time. We used a mixture of different materials. Firstly, we painted the night sky for the background using blue and white paint. We also included a silhouette of Santa and his reindeer flying across the moon. Then, we used brown paper for the base of the house before painting on the white “icing” that looks bricks. Then we worked individually on smaller projects to add to the house like the snow, the peppermints, the candy canes, the Christmas tree, the snowmen and the reindeers. Everyone added at least one thing to the house and we had lots of fun creating it! The final touches were then added which included the windows and the lights on the tree.

Hi Everyone,

All the boys and girls have really been enjoying the Christmas Festivities in school this week and are looking forward to the next few days. We know there has been a lot of speculation in relation to schools closing early for Christmas, but as far as we are aware it is the Government intention that all schools will remain open as planned.
As per our school calendar, we will be closing at 12 on Wednesday.

However, in order to be prepared for any unforeseen closures after the Christmas holidays, we are making sure all children in Senior classes are up to date with their usernames and passwords for the online learning platforms they use (See-saw, Google Classroom). Class teachers will be sending log-in details home today or tomorrow.

Hopefully these will not be needed after the break, but please check to make sure your child has their log-in and keeps these safe.

School Closure - Wednesday 8th Dec 2021

Latest Update:10pm.

Sorry for the *extremely* late message, but the weather situation has changed rapidly and Dublin is now included in the list of counties on which schools have been instructed to stay closed tomorrow.

St Ultan’s campus has to stay closed as a result. This affects the school, Early Years and Care Service.

Stay safe.

Staff Shout Out

We need to do a huge ‘Shout Out’ to say thanks to one of our wonderful staff members who made this amazing Busy Board for our garden. The children absolutely love it, and it is a great addition to the garden. Thank you Roberto.
