Opportunity Through Music
What do we do here at Presto Project? We enable opportunity, growth and development to the Cherry Orchard community through progressive music education. Presto Project is St Ultan's National School's resident music programme. Every child in St Ultans receives a minimum of 30 minutes of free music education every week. We are an El Sistema inspired programme; the Venezuelan model of music for social change established by José Antonio Abreu in 1975.

At Presto Project, we believe that every child has the capacity to excel; regardless of economic background, ethnicity or social status. We are dedicated to equipping children with all the skills they need in order to actualize themselves in a dynamic and ever-changing society. We teach our children to express themselves, to believe in their own potential, to understand the importance of discipline and responsibility; all within a musical context. These skills are highly transferable across all facets of life; so even if our children decide not to become musicians, they have a tool-set of highly desirable life skills at their disposal.
Music enriches lives in a meaningful and emotive way. As well as supporting individuals on an emotional level, a music education can also provide opportunities that bypass social or economic boundaries. At Presto Project our goal is a simple one: opportunity through music.
